This practice direction amends and augments Rule 17(2) of the Specific Claims Tribunal Rules of Practice and Procedure.
17 (2) A document must be filed in PDF (Portable Document Format) or any other electronic format that allows the document to be converted for printing on letter size paper.
All documents must be filed in PDF in an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) text recognition format.
Submitting Documents Prior to the Hearing:
When a book of documents, or any other large document, comprise multiple volumes, the electronic version must be filed separately for each volume and correspond exactly to the paper version. Each volume must be submitted as one (1) singular PDF document. Individual volumes should contain a cover page including the style of cause, file number, title of document and volume number. A table of contents must be submitted for each volume. The table of contents must be hyperlinked and bookmarked for easier navigation within the electronic document.
Submitting Documents at the Hearing:
In addition to the electronic version submitted to the Registry, the parties must bring and submit at the hearing two (2) paper copies of their books of documents, casebooks of authorities, agreed statement of facts, exhibits, and expert reports on which they will be relying.
